PREPARING FOR
the Revolutionary Communist Party*
PUBLIC MEETING • BRADFORD POWER
Can there be a revolution in Britain?
KATE MARSHALL General Secretary of the RCP Wednesday 23rd May • Central Library 730pm For the first time in many years the conflict between the classes in Britain has come out into the open as a direct confrontation, The dispute between the miners and the Coal Board has turned into open warfare between the working class and the capitalist system.
The Government and the employers are prepared to use all the resources at their disposal - the police, the courts and the law to crush the miners' resistance. Their response shows what workers can expect if they stand up and fight for a decent life.
The economic disease of capitalism has no short-term cure. And for workers that means more sacrifices, more indignity and a future without hope. That is why anything less than the overthrow of capitalism can bring no lasting benefit to the working class.
But can there be a revolution in Britain?
